Exhaust gas temperature sensor for Ski-Doo and Lynx, 2011-2015.
Exhaust temperature sensor, exhaust gas temperature sensor, silencer sensor. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. This exhaust temperature sensor, located in the silencer, is used in Lynx and Ski-Doo snowmobiles. This sensor is suitable for several different engines, but it has mainly been used in 600, 800 Etec and 600 RS engines.
How do I know if the sensor is broken?
Usually, a faulty sensor will illuminate the engine malfunction light on the snowmobile. However, you can try to confirm this by displaying the snowmobile's fault code. On some Lynx and Ski-Doo snowmobiles, fault codes can be displayed by pressing and holding the M button and rapidly toggling the light switch until the fault codes appear on the display.
Sensor installation
Usually, installing the sensor takes about 10 minutes, 5 of which are spent looking for tools and fiddling with the phone. However, sometimes the job can be difficult if the old sensor has rusted or seized in the threads of the silencer for one reason or another. Therefore, we recommend putting some anti-seize grease on the threads of the new sensor, for example Loctite 767 .
