Clutch-side crankshaft seal for Lynx and Ski-Doo snowmobiles. The condition of the clutch-side crankshaft seal should be monitored. The clutch-side seal is susceptible to damage, for example, if the drive belt breaks. Therefore, it's advisable to check the condition of the seal's protective cover and the seal itself. Even if the seal doesn't appear damaged externally, it may still leak. Damage to the seal can, in the worst case, cause the engine to seize.

Replacing the seals on 600 and 800 Etec engines is a simple operation. You only need to remove the drive belt, clutch, and seal cover from the snowmobile. The engine blocks don't need to be split because the seal has no protrusions that need to be inserted into the block. The seal is pulled out, and the new seal can be gently tapped in. At the same time, it's a good idea to check if the crankshaft end bearing still has grease and what condition the grease is in.
