Seal on the clutch side of the crankshaft for Lynx and Ski-Doo sleds. It is wise to keep an eye on the condition of the clutch side crankshaft seal. The clutch side seal is prone to damage, for example, if the belt breaks. For this reason, it is advisable to check the seal’s protective plate and the seal’s condition. Even if the seal does not look bad from the outside, it may still leak. Damage to the seal can, in the worst case, cause the engine to seize.

Seal replacement for 600, 800 Etec engines and spare part numbers

Replacing the seal on 600 and 800 Etec engines is a simple operation. You only need to remove the variator belt, Clutch, and the seal’s protective plate from the sled. The engine block does not need to be split because the seal has no projections that need to go inside the block. The seal comes out by pulling it out, and the new seal can be gently tapped in. At the same time, it is good to check if there is still grease on the crankshaft end bearing and what condition the grease is in.
